EWGA Chapter Championship 18 holes at Eagle Hills golf course. Two different competitive formats: Stroke Play Competition and Inter-Chapter Team Scramble Competition.We will also offer a fun scramble for those who do not want to compete or that do not have handicap established. Forms that need to be filled out for this event will soon be on the home page, bottom left. STROKE PLAY COMPETITION Stroke Play competitors play in one of five flights at the Chapter Championship qualifying event based upon their USGA Handicap Index and remain in that flight throughout the Championship. INTER-CHAPTER TEAM SCRAMBLE Inter-Chapter scramble teams consists of four (4) woman who meet the eligibility requirements to play in the EWGA Championship. The team ? handicap? is established based on the USGA Handicap Index of all four players. The Low Gross and Low Net Champions in each flight are eligible to advance. The first place Inter-Chapter Team Scramble Competition winners are eligible to advance. Registration information for the Semi-Final Championship will be provided at the Chapter Championship to all competitors eligible to advance. *Established handicap is needed*, time to start playing golf and start posting your scores, no matter how good or bad they are. Go to www.ewga.com click on "handicap service", "post a score", log in if you already have activated your account, or activate it following the instructions there. If you have any questions on handicap contact samland@cox.net CHANGES FOR 2009 1) Must have an equivalent of at least two (2) 18-hole rounds posted in the current year's handicap record. This means between March 18, when our active season starts, and June 14, the registration deadline for Chapter Championship, you must have played 2 18-hole rounds or 4 9-hole rounds to be eligible. 2) Flights of players will be determined at each level based on their verified index on the handicap cut-off date prior to Chapter, Semi-Final and Final Championships. 3) Personal Distance Measuring Devices (DMD) are permitted at all EWGA Championship events. These MUST ONLY measure distance and not slope or gradient. 4) Caddies will ONLY be permitted at the Championship Finals. 5) The handicap breakdown and corresponding factors for scramble teams have been adjusted to correspond with stroke play flights. 6) Players on scramble teams with handicap index factors of 0, -1, or -2 will play the same yardages as 2nd, 3rd or 4th flight stroke play competitors. 7) Only one member of a scramble team shall have a handicap index of 16.0 or less based on the final handicap revision date prior to the Chapter Championship. 8) EXEMPT PLAYERS: Flights for stroke players and handicap factors for scramble players will be determined by the handicap cut-off date prior to the Championship Finals competition. |
