No. EWGA is geared towards career-oriented and professional women and anyone who enjoys playing golf and is interested in improving their game in a fun and welcoming environment.
Absolutely!! All skill levels are welcome here and all along the way you will find supportive and friendly fellow golfers, whether you are new to the game or a seasoned pro. We also offer the S.W.I.N.G. program, a mentoring program which pairs up new golfers with more experienced ones.
No. As a member of the Omaha EWGA Chapter, you are able to participate in all of the chapter's activities, including social events and weekend golf outings, even if you are not in a league. Though league play is a key part of our organization, many women find that it is difficult to commit to the same night every week for leagues. As a benefit to your membership, you may also sign up to be a sub on any league.
The membership cost varies depending on which level of membership you choose. View How To Join and Membership Levels. Leagues, social events, golf outings and clinics all carry separate fees, which vary depending on the course you play at or the type of event. Our Website will provide information about the cost of leagues or events, and you may also contact any board member or committee member if you have further questions about fees.
A golf handicap is a number used to make the competition between golfers of different skill levels more even. It is important to post your score on the Golf Life Management System after each round of golf, as a handicap is necessary for you to be able to participate in the Chapter Championship as well as many other local golf tournaments.
Ready golf is a means of speeding up play on the golf course. Ready golf allows the golfers in a group to hit their ball when they are ready, regardless of who won the last hole or who is further from the green. The Omaha EWGA Chapter practices ready golf in all of our leagues.
- Leagues
are a wonderful way to play often and meet many new people.
- Sign
up for the league on the night and times that work for you. You can sign
up for more than one league, if you’d like.
- League
captains will be in contact with you in mid-April with more details about
your league schedule, the pre-league meeting and other important details.
- You
can either request to be partnered with someone you know, or the league
captains will pair you up with someone.
- You will
play with your same partner, but will be paired up with a different twosome
each week.
- Some
leagues have tee-times, while others have a shotgun start. You’ll receive
a detailed schedule prior to league starting about when to be at the
course, which twosome you are paired up with that week and other important
information.
- If you
are unable to make it to league one week, you can find a sub from the sub
list in the members-only section of our website. Always try to line up
your subs as soon as possible and let the league captains know who will be
taking your place that week.
