About Us
Omaha Chapter – About Us
The Executive Women's Golf Association (EWGA) is a not-for-profit organization formed in 1991 to promote and foster a spirit of acceptance, dignity and respect for career-oriented women interested in golf. There are currently over 20,000 members nationwide. Omaha is a member of the Heartland Section which is comprised of the following cities: Kansas City, Des Moines, Quad Cities, Rock River Valley, Chicago, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Madison, Fond Du Lac, Fox Cities/Green Bay, Minneapolis, Wichita and Lincoln.
The Omaha Chapter started in October of 2000.
Since 2000, we've grown by leaps and bounds. We started with one league on one course and today we play more golf courses than any other women's league in Omaha. Our leagues and golf clinics are designed to accommodate a variety of golfing abilities. We also offer quarterly luncheons where we have guest speakers, fashion shows, or club demos to give our members an opportunity to talk and get together off of the golf course.
One of the most unique aspects about EWGA is the opportunity to play in the world’s largest women's amateur golf tournament – the EWGA Championship Series. It begins at the Chapter level with the Chapter Championship. The low gross and low net winners in five flights, based on handicaps, plus the winning scramble team, go on to compete in the Sectional Semi-Finals. The winning Semi-Finalists go on to compete in the EWGA Championship Finals with women from Chapters throughout the United States and Canada. You can get more information about this year's locations and events from our calendar. These championships give women the opportunity to play on some of the best golf courses in the nation.
The most important thing you'll get from our organization is fun.
We're here to help each other learn more about the game of golf, make new friends, and encourage other women to take time out for themselves and participate in a sport they love. We're not all "executives" and we're not all "great" golfers so give us call, or sign up for one of our events to find out more about Omaha EWGA. Board of Directors
